The following criteria must be met to be selected:

>>  The candidate must have 20 years of active participation in New York State Wrestling after graduation from high school.

>>  The candidate must have three letters of recommendation from active wrestling people in New York State which support him to the Hall.

>>  The person recommending the candidate must be present at one of the coaches' meetings in order to present the past history of the candidate to the coaches Association, and selection committee.

>>  A vote must be taken by the selection committee and passed by two-thirds majority. The committee is made up of the affiliation representatives plus current officers of the New York State Wrestling Coaches Association.

Hall of Fame awards will be presented at the annual New York State Intercollegiate Wrestling championships.

Inductees of the Hall of Fame shall receive a framed certificate awarded at the New York State Intercollegiate Wrestling Championships. Inductees will be sent a letter of congratulations from the President following their election by members and an invitation to attend the State Tournament in which they will be inducted with hotel expenses and coaches breakfast paid by the Association.
